This week, we have a 13-fight card at Boise, Idaho. It is headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, who is making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller competitions with this card because it is just a Fight Night card using lesser known name, but there is still well over $100k to be obtained. I’ll be pursuing my fair share of the money and I hope you guys will be too. Listed below are a couple plays I like this weekend and my fade of this week.
Money Game play of this week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I think Volkanovski is the”safest” drama on this particular card and his -300 betting line would agree with me. That is where I will be starting my lineup this week and I will figure out the rest from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points through his first four UFC fights so he has a whole lot of upside too. He could possible score over two winners on this particular card combined. I really do think he’s in drama for GPPs too for that reason, but he will likely be the heaviest owned fighter on the card and we do not care about ownership as much in money games. I’d suggest paying up for the expensive cost in your cash games and I then look for at least 3 others wins you’re confident in.
GPP play of this week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS ought to be the way better striker inside this struggle and I believe that is where the fight will occur. He can get KO’d at the opening seconds of the fight and score 0 points, but this is what makes him a GPP drama instead of a money game play. With these two Heavyweights, we need to likely find a KO inside the 25-minues and that I think the former champion, JDS, are the one to get it. He has great takedown defense so he should be able to maintain this fight on the feet where he will have a 4-inch reach benefit to work with.
Underdog drama of this week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko is going to function as underdog play of this week. The chances demonstrate that the fight should be fairly close and there is a good possibility he utilizes his wrestling to obtain the benefit. In 5 fights that he has not seen a decision yet, and there’s a chance it remains that way if he receives Brown into the floor. Niko includes some slick submissions in his arsenal and a great deal of heart. On the toes, Brown probably has the advantage with his reach, but Price does have any sneaky power too, which can’t be overlooked. Overall, I enjoy this as a GPP play.
Fade of the week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he’s only $100 cheaper than Volkanovski. In my opinion, Perez will require a finish to really have a shot at paying that pricey salary and I do not wish to invest in that, personally. He’s never landed more than 1 takedown at a fight and Wineland has exceptional takedown defense, therefore we should see this battle take place on the feet. I believe Perez needs to be the one to receive his hand raised in the end but I think that it’s going to be via conclusion. If that’s the case then he could score ~60 points in a win, and also at $9.1k that is not going to win anybody a tournament. I’ll be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he doesn’t get the finish and he’s my official evaporate of this week.
